Budget unlikely to reduce income tax rates

There will be no cuts in the higher and standard income tax rates in the upcoming budget according to senior Government officials.

The Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, is due to deliver his new budget to the Dail in three weeks time but according to reports, income tax rates will not be reduced this time round.
