Gardai investigate child abduction in Westmeath

A garda investigation has been launched into the abduction of a nine-year-old girl in Knockdowney, Moate, Co Westmeath.

Gardai have erected roadblocks throughout the midlands after a nine-year-old girl was abducted in Moate, Co Westmeath, this afternoon.

A witness reports seeing a man bundle a schoolgirl into a dark green Toyota car at 4.15pm today in the Knockdowney area of the town.
