RUC gun killed Protestant man

RUC sources in Co Tyrone say they believe the INLA was responsible for the murder of a man in Strabane on October 29.

Charles Folliard,30, was shot in the head and leg as he left his Catholic girlfriend's home. It is believed that the gun used to kill Mr Folliard was stolen from the RUC.

Mr Folliard had been jailed for 14 years in 1991 for attempting to murder a Catholic workmate and for possessing fire-arms.

Meanwhile the UDA has been blamed for a murder bid on a Donegal worker in Derry city last night. The incident happened in the Protestant Waterside area of the city.

No-one was injured in the attack, police believe the attack was sectarian.
