US air force plane forced to land at Shannon

An American Air Force transport plane had to make a landing at Shannon Airport after fumes had been reported in its cockpit.

The C5 Galaxy was en route from Ramstein, Germany, to Massachusetts when the alert was raised.

Fire brigades from Shannon stood by during the landing and efforts are going on to uncover the source of the problem.
