Dublin’s top Protestant churchman tonight accepted an apology from his Roman Catholic counterpart, who had described him as ‘‘not a high-flier’’.

Cardinal Desmond Connell, the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, made the comment about his Church of Ireland opposite number in an interview for a book being published next week.
