Lowry to be quizzed about £147,000 loan
Former government minister Michael Lowry will resume his evidence to the Moriarty Tribunal today.
The Tipperary North TD will be quizzed about a £147,000 loan he received from Fine Gael fundraiser David Austin to pay for renovations to a house in Co Dublin which he had just bought.
The money was lodged in an offshore bank account in the Isle of Man.
Three and a half months later, Mr Lowry sold the Blackrock property and repaid the loan plus interest.
