The Sinn Fein MP for Strabane, Pat Doherty has said he does not believe republicans were involved in the killing of a 30-year-old protestant man.

Former loyalist prisoner, Charles Folliard was shot dead outside the home of his 16-year-old catholic girlfriend.

Mr Doherty added that if the RUC have any information on the incident, as they claim, they should release it.

He said he does not want to add to the speculation but does not believe the killing is the responsibility of republican paramilitaries.
