An investigation was underway today after a bomb exploded outside a west Belfast police station as army experts were trying to defuse it.

An investigation was underway today after a bomb exploded outside a west Belfast police station as army experts were trying to defuse it.

The device, containing an estimated five kilos of explosives, went off on a bus abandoned at the gates of the Woodbourne base last night, said a police spokeswoman.
