A 40-year-old Irishman has died in Colombia in a gunfight between the country’s army and its second-largest left-wing guerrilla group, the Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional.

A 40-year-old Irishman has died in Colombia in a gunfight between the country’s army and its second-largest left-wing guerrilla group, the Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional.

The Colombian army has named the dead man as Jeremy Parks, who was carrying Irish identification but it is unclear whether he was fighting with the ELN or kidnapped by the group.
