Govt to privatise Aer Lingus

The Government has decided to privatise Aer Lingus in an attempt to save the crippled airline from bankruptcy.

Following a cabinet meeting today, Public Enterprise Minister Mary O’Rourke said she will sanction private investment in Aer Lingus.

This effectively rules out state aid to the airline.
