Irishmen kept in solitary confinement in Colombian jail
There is increasing concern about the safety of the three Irishmen being held in a Colombian jail.
It has been claimed by a campaign to get the men released that Niall Connolly, James Monaghan and Martin McCauley are being detained in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day with little light or fresh air.
The three were detained on suspicion of training rebels in the use of weapons. However they claim they were there studying the Colombian peace process.
Campaign spokesperson, Catriona Ruane, who is gathering evidence for both sides says the men have been denied an Irish lawyer and questions if the Columbian authorities have something to hide.
