'Colombian three' cannot receive fair trial says spokesperson
A campaign has begun to free the three Irishmen being detained in a Colombian jail. Niall Connolly, James Monaghan and Martin McCauley were arrested in the country on suspicion of training rebels in the use of weapons.
However they claim they were studying the peace process there. Campaigners for the men say they are being held in inhumane conditions and are unable to get a fair trial.
Spokesperson for the campaigners, Catriona Ruane says they have already been tried and convicted by the media even though there have been no formal charges against them. She also says her request to meet the men has been refused by the Colombian Government.
