Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh has announced that Egypt has agreed to reopen its markets to Irish beef.

Egypt banned all imports of European Union beef following the BSE crisis in 2000 but the Irish Government has been lobbying hard for Ireland to be excluded from the ban because of our strict health controls.
