Shots fired at RUC in north Belfast

Shots were fired at the RUC this evening after they responded to reports of a pipe-bomb attack in a Catholic area of north Belfast.

Shots were fired at the RUC this evening after they responded to reports of a pipe-bomb attack in a Catholic area of north Belfast.

The RUC said the automatic gunfire came from the nationalist Hallidays Road area.

Nobody was injured in the attack.
