Senior churchmen express concern for Muslims in Ireland
Dublin’s two senior churchmen have expressed their dismay at the reports of insults being hurled at members of the city’s Muslim community following the attacks in New York and Washington.
In a joint statement released today, Cardinal Desmond Connell and the Church of Ireland Archbishop, Walton Empey, said that they wanted to acknowledge the positive contribution of the Muslim communities here.
The pair added that Muslims throughout the world have been praying for peace in the past few days.
