The Deputy First Minister for the Northern Assembly, Seamus Mallon, says that the terrorist attacks in the US could have a major effect on the issue of decommissioning in the North.

Mr Mallon believes that the force of public opinion against all acts of terrorism that has arisen from the attacks, could force the IRA to change its stance in relation to surrendering its arms.
