IBEC calls for cut in PRSI

The employers’ body IBEC has urged the Government to reduce employers’ PRSI contributions to offset the downturn in the economy.

IBEC said higher wages and increased PRSI are damaging the competitiveness of Irish businesses.

The IBEC call came after figures revealed that the Live Register rose by 2,400 in July.
