The police and army have stopped Catholic parents from taking their daughters through the safe corridor to the Holy Cross Primary School in the Ardoyne area of Belfast because an explosion has occurred there.

The police and army have stopped Catholic parents from taking their daughters through the safe corridor to the Holy Cross Primary School in the Ardoyne area of Belfast because an explosion has occurred there.

It is not known yet what caused the blast which sent parents and children running in terror from the area.
