Dundalk woman not allowed to adopt Romanian orphan
The head of the Romanian Dambovita Child Protection Agency has said that the Dundalk woman taking care of four-year-old orphan Mihaela Porumbaru will not be allowed to adopt the girl.
He said the Romanian Government outlawed international adoptions last November and revealed that no application has been made to adopt the girl.
Mihaela has been granted permission to stay in Ireland until November to receive medical treatment, but after that she must be returned to Romania.
