300 laid off at Monaghan factory

Three hundred workers at the Monaghan Poultry Products plant in Monaghan town have been laid off temporarily after the Government shut down the factory for failing to obey EU regulations.

The workers were handed their notice last night and now face uncertainty as to whether they will ever get their jobs back.
