Man dies after fall on Dublin building site

A man in his 50s has died from injuries sustained in a fall on a construction site in Dublin’s Docklands.

The accident happened at the John Paul site in Mayor Street.

Denis Farrell of the Building and Allied Trade Union, says this is the latest in a series of deaths on building sites, and action must be taken to prevent further fatalities.

"This was very unfortunate as there were large number of workers on the site this morning, so we’re very angry about it," he said.

"Basically, this is a middle-aged man who has become another statistic and no-one believes that anyone is taking serious action to stop this."
