Ulster Unionists will back Northern Ireland’s new policing plans if the SDLP agrees to join them in a power-sharing Government without Sinn Fein, it was claimed today.

With the UUP still to declare if it will nominate members to the board overseeing RUC reforms, the party’s hardline South Antrim MP David Burnside claimed a decision hinges on how the SDLP reacts if the IRA doesn’t disarm.
