ILDA expected to announce 21 one-day stoppages
The Irish Locomotive Drivers Association is understood to be drawing up plans for a new wave of one-day stoppages which could cripple Ireland’s rail network.
The drivers, who caused rail chaos for 10 weeks during another strike last year, voted in favour of industrial action after management at Iarnrod Eireann failed to implement recommendations made by the Labour Court following an investigation of train drivers’ grievances.
The ILDA is now expected to name 21 days during which its members will down tools in protest at the attitude of the company.
