Sinead O'Connor gets married

Sinead O'Connor has married her boyfriend in a secret ceremony.

The wedding took place three weeks ago.

The singer met reporter Nick Sommerlad in February, and he says they are both very happy.

Sommerlad, who is a distant relative of Sweden's Queen Silvia, proposed only a few months after meeting O'Connor following a whirlwind romance.

He says: "We fell for each other very quickly. Both of us have been out with various people in the past, but we are both very happy now."

Mother-of-two O'Connor has previously had relationships with a number of journalists.

She was formerly married to writer John Reynolds, who is the father of her son Jake, 13.

Irish Times columnist John Waters is the father of her five-year-old daughter Roisin.

Three years ago she was ordained as a priest by rogue Catholic Bishop Michael Cox.
