New legislation to crack down on satellite card forgery

The Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O'Rourke, has signed new legislation aimed at cracking down on the production and sale of counterfeit satellite TV smart cards.

The Minister for Public Enterprise, Mary O'Rourke, has signed new legislation aimed at cracking down on the production and sale of counterfeit satellite TV smart cards.

The new law will make it illegal to sell, import or promote these devices. If found guilty of these offences, a person could face a maximum fine of £1,500.
