Man injured in turf-cutting accident

A 71-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after an accident while cutting turf in the Sperrin mountains.

He suffered a fractured hand and leg injuries when he slipped and fell under a trailer and became trapped, at Tornoge Hill near Dunamanagh.

He was found by a local man and police and paramedics attended the scene on foot until a helicopter arrived to remove him.
