Former Sunday Indo journalist wins dismissal case
Former Sunday Independent journalist Liz Allen has won her constructive dismissal case against the newspaper and is understood to have been awarded over £70,000 compensation.
The Employment Appeals Tribunal has issued a 20-page judgement on the case taken by the paper's former crime correspondent.
During the hearing, Ms Allen had alleged that she was bullied and harassed at work and that her re-instatement would have been 'unworkable' after her resignation.
She also claimed that her health had been damaged and her career was in ruins following the events that took place during her time at the paper from August 1996 to September 2000.
The journalist said the two most senior people in the office did not acknowledge her and she felt 'like a piece of dirt'.
