Destroy guns or we'll boycott poll: Trimble

Northern Ireland’s power-sharing administration faces collapse unless the IRA begins to destroy its guns, Ulster Unionist leader David Trimble warned today.

In a bid to raise the pressure on republicans before the British and Irish Governments’ publication of proposals to rescue the peace process, Mr Trimble insisted his party would pull out of crucial Assembly elections.
