A judge in Panama has delayed a hearing for an Irishman accused of killing his British friend, ruling in favour of a prosecution motion claiming the suspect may not be mentally fit to appear in court.

Edna Ramos, lawyer for Peter Byrne, denounced the prosecution’s motion, saying it was presented only days before the hearing.
