High Court to rule in Lawlor case

Dublin West TD Liam Lawlor should know by noon today if he is returning to jail.

The High Court will rule later this morning if the former Fianna Fail TD has failed to meet his obligations to the Planning and Payments Tribunal.

Counsel for the tribunal claimed last week that Liam Lawlor had not provided outstanding documents from Liechtenstein and the Czech Republic.

Details of a land purchase in Lucan, implicating Larry Goodman, and records of bank accounts in California were not disclosed.

Last January, Deputy Lawlor spent one week in jail after the High Court ruled he had not co-operated with the Inquiry under Justice Flood.

Two months and three weeks of the sentence were suspended on the basis that Mr Lawlor would provide all outstanding documents to the Tribunal.

Last week, the court was told that more than 25,000 documents have been provided to the Tribunal.
