Govenment urged to double speeding fines

The insurance industry has called on the Government to double the level of speeding fines in an effort to improve road safety.

The Irish Insurance Federation has set out a five-point action plan that also calls for the immediate introduction of the penalty points system and a new test and registration scheme for driving instructors.
