Post mortem results due after Athlone murders

The results of post mortem examinations on the bodies of a mother and her two sons who were murdered near Athlone are expected to be known later today.

Debbie Fox and her sons Killian, aged seven, and nine-year-old Trevor were found beaten to death in their home in Castledaly, Co Westmeath yesterday.

Gardai are still waiting to question their father, Greg Fox, who was found at the scene with serious injuries and is now recovering in hospital.

Gardai believe a hurley may have been used in the attack and they have confirmed that they are not seeking anybody else in connection with the killings.
