Loyalists and Republicans are blaming each other for last night's rioting in Belfast in which several shots were fired and a man was injured.

Fierce battles took place between rival mobs in the Ardoyne area and the RUC were attacked with petrol bombs, stones and bottles.

The Northern Secretary, Dr John Reid, is discussing the latest surge in violence with a Sinn Fein delegation today.
