Phoenix magazine won't publish articles on Redmond

The Phoenix magazine has given an undertaking not to publish any more articles about former Dublin City Manager George Redmond while court action involving him is pending.

The publication was taken to the High Court today by the Director of Public Prosecutions who claimed the magazine had breached the sub-judice rule.

The sub-judice rule means that pre-trial publicity could influence a jury.

George Redmond is currently under investigation by the Planning and Payments Tribunal.
