Mitchell calls for Cabinet intervention to block VHI increase

Fine Gael’s spokesman on health Gay Mitchell TD has called on the Cabinet meeting today to direct the Minister for Health to block the increase sought by the VHI.

"The Cabinet should not to sanction any increase until after the Oireachtas Health Committee has concluded its hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning next, when the Committee meets in special session at my request with the VHI present," he said.
