Shots fired at Co Tipperary house

A number of shots were fired at a house in the Co Tipperary town of Thurles early this morning.

The house in the Monakeeba estate was occupied at the time of the attack, but nobody was injured.

Gardai have arrested a local man in his mid-40s and have recovered a firearm.

Detectives have refused to comment on the background to the shooting, but it is understood to be connected to a recent court case.
