A north Antrim family has escaped unharmed after the latest in a series of pipe-bomb attacks in the North.

The RUC were called to a house in Strand Park in Cloughmills after reports of an explosion at around 1.30am.

On their arrival, they discovered a second device on the windowsill and evacuated a number of nearby homes.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man is recovering in hospital this morning after a paramilitary-style punishment attack in Larne, Co Antrim last night.

The victim was shot in the leg in the Bardic Drive area of the town.
