Lawlor must explain lack of documents

Lawyers for Liam Lawlor TD are expected to tell the High Court today why certain requested documents have not been presented to the Flood Tribunal.

Yesterday, the court was told that major financial transactions involving Mr Lawlor have not been backed up with documentation.

One such company with which Mr Lawlor was associated was called Clearview Ltd, which was set up to lay pipes in Lucan.

The court was told that Clearview Ltd was not registered in the Liam Lawlor's Dail Register of Interests in 1997, yet it was logged in this year's register.

Liam Lawlor's legal team must give explanations for these discrepancies later today.

Today could be Liam Lawlor's last chance to prevent a return to Mountjoy Jail.

Last January, he was sentenced to three months in prison, but had two months and three weeks suspended provided he co-operated with Justice Fergus Flood.
