Man injured in hit-and-run incident

Gardai in Co Monaghan are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Castleblaney early this morning.

A 19-year-old youth is in a serious condition after being struck by a northern registered car while walking along the main Monaghan road near the Glencarn hotel shortly before 3am.

Gardai say the injured man was carried some distance by the vehicle which was travelling at speed.
