Garda probe after Naas hit-and-run

Gardai are investigating the possibility that the man found dead on a roadside in County Kildare early today may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.

The man, believed to have been in his late thirties, was found dead in Kilteel, in Naas.

Superintendent Tom Neville, of Naas Gardai, appealed for information from the public.

He said, "At 3.00am today the body of a man was found lying on a roadway near Kilkeel village.

"He had severe head injuries.

"I am appealing to anybody who was in the vicinity of Kilkeel village in the early hours of this morning to come forward and help us with our inquiries.

"Indeed, people might also keep in mind that the deceased may have been the victim of a hit-and-run accident."
