Fire has destroyed a gaelic football club building in Northern Ireland.

Attical GAA club near Kilkeel, Co Down lost its treasured archive material as flames swept through the old timber structure.

Distraught chairman Seamus Quinn said: "I don’t know where we go from here. We have lost all our history and photos".

Mr Quinn added that police had warned the club in the past about possible attacks.

Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Martin Clarke said it was too early to be certain how last night’s blaze started.

"That’s being investigated by police," he said. "Arson will be one line of inquiry."
