Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy has refused to say whether he will take the advice of the Economic Social and Research Institute and not cut tax rates in the December budget.

The economic watchdog recently warned against tax cuts to combat wage inflation and the slowing down of the economy.

Mr McCreevy is refusing to reveal anything about his budget plans, but has

indicated that he believes the economic outlook is still very positive.
