Bid to stop Flood from investigating auctioneer, Finnegan

Lawyers for the Dublin based auctioneer, John Finnegan will today launch a motion in the High Court to have their client excluded from further investigation by the Flood Tribunal.

Testimony at the Tribunal has discovered that Mr Finnegan was paid £270,000 by the builder contractors, Tom Brennan and Joe McGowan, while he was an auctioneer in the mid-1970’s.

The Tribunal has also been investigating reports that a company that was controlled by Misters Finnegan, Brennan and McGowan made a payment of £60,000 to the former Government Minister, Ray Burke.
