Donegal cattle dealer's body to be exhumed
The body of Raphoe cattle dealer Richie Barron is to be exhumed today as investigations into his alleged murder continue.
No one has ever been charged in connection with Mr Barron's death, which led to allegations of corruption against members of the gardai in Co Donegal.
The 54-year-old's battered body was found at the side of the road on the outskirts of Raphoe four and a half years ago.
Initially, it was assumed that he had been the victim of a hit-and-run accident, but later evidence suggested that he may have been attacked.
The handling of his death led to the biggest internal garda investigation in the history of the State and five people have so far been arrested for questioning, including a garda sergeant.
