O'Brien rejoins eircom bidding war

The future of eircom was thrown into fresh doubt today when a new bid was tabled for the company.

The move came as eircom continued exclusive negotiations with a consortium spearheaded by media boss Sir Anthony O’Reilly which had seemed certain to succeed in the take-over.
