Loyalist paramilitaries are being blamed for the murder of a 26-year old Catholic in his house at Coleraine, Co Derry.

John Henry McCormack was gunned down at his home close to the loyalist Ballysally estate at around 10.30pm last night.

Mr McCormack’s partner and four young children were at home at the time.

RUC Chief Inspector Nigel Kyle says everyone must condemn the action of those who broke into a house containing four children to carry out such a despicable deed.

The house had been targeted in a pipe bomb attack just three weeks ago.
