Drugs seized in Co Sligo, two arrests made

Drugs worth an estimated £11,000 have been seized in Sligo.

Gardai seized the cannabis resin and ecstasy following a surveillance operation at Ballinode outside Sligo town.

The cannabis was valued at about £10,000 while about £1,000 worth of ecstasy was found.

A small quantity of cash was also recovered.

A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the find.

They are being held under Section Two of the Drugs Trafficking Act at Sligo Garda Station, where they can be held for up to seven days without charge.
