Two accused of bomb attack on politician’s house

Two men have been charged after a bomb attack on a nationalist politician’s house in Northern Ireland, the Royal Ulster Constabulary said today.

No one was injured in the blast at the home of Larne SDLP councillor Martin Wilson on the Old Glenarm Road in Larne, Co Antrim, at around 2am on June 18.

The men, who have not been named, were charged with possession of explosives, carrying explosives with intent, and carrying out an unlawful act with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life, an RUC spokesman said.

They were due to appear at a special sitting of Larne Magistrates Court at 12.30pm today.
