Builder to face further questions at Flood
One of the country's leading builders is due before the Flood Tribunal today to answer further questions about alleged payments to former Justice Minister Ray Burke.
Yesterday, the tribunal heard that Oakpark Developments, which is co-owned by Tom Brennan and Tom McGowan, signed a contract to build Mr Burke's home at Briargate, Swords, Co Dublin.
Solicitor Esmonde Reilly testified that no money changed hands for the house, nor was a deposit paid in advance of the construction.
Patrick Hanratty SC, for the tribunal, said that this was an unusual practice.
However, Mr Brennan rejected this, insisting payment was made after the house was built.
However, the tribunal was told that there is no evidence that any such payment took place.
