SIPTU holds hope for Cork plant

SIPTU has insisted it has not given up hope of saving the former Irish Steel plant in Cork.

Irish Ispat announced yesterday that it was closing with the loss of 400 jobs.

However, the union said it would meet company management on Monday in a bid to have the decision reversed.
